Good dive buddy etiquette

Boater:

Be on time.
Agree on expenses before you arrive. Let your buddy know approximately how much gas you think it will take. If you don't know, fill your tank before your buddy arrives. Fill your tank when you get back from the dive.
Have your boat ready to go.
Make sure you check weather conditions for that day. You are the operator.
Know the waters of the area you plan to dive.
Let your buddy know of any rules that you know of about diving the area.
Let your buddy know your dive philosophy. (Actions of your buddy that might offend you while diving.)

Non-boater:

Be on time.
Offer to share expenses, including launch, gas, dockage etc..
Bring food and drinks, but ask what your buddy allows on board.
Make sure you have your tanks full before you arrive.
Agree on a dive spot before you arrive. But be flexible, and don't complain if the boater wants to go somewhere else, it's his boat and he might have a good reason for going somewhere else.
Let your buddy know of any rules that you know of about diving the area.
Let your buddy know your dive philosophy. (Actions of your buddy that might offend you while diving.)
